Choosing the right design professional is an important decision for your project’s success.

• Your designer should be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge in kitchen and bath design as well as mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems.


• They should adhere to a strict code of conduct.


• They should be a member of a leading kitchen and bath industry professional organization, like NKBA, National Kitchen & Bath Association.

Your design process starts with your wants and needs. For a kitchen, among the first steps is to determine your appliances. There are many models to choose from and these models come in many sizes and functions. There is no standard size. Your cabinetry has to conform to the appliance space requirements.

Most appliances would be designed with cabinetry or surfaces on either side of and above them. Your appliance choices greatly affect your design.

You will also need to select your materials, colors and textures. Your design style will help to determine some of this. The amount of your investment will also affect your design as even a small kitchen can be designed at least a hundred different ways; from basic to elaborate, using many detailed moldings and plant-ons.

Glass or metal back splashes can also add interest to an otherwise basic design.

For bathrooms, you’ll need to decide on plumbing fixtures, hardware and showers versus tubs.

All of this will affect price, so it’s best to determine this before we start your design. We can help you will all of your decisions through the design process, following guidelines with design style and flair, all the while remaining within your individual budget constraints.

The Design Process

• Meeting first in our showroom really helps us get an idea of the materials you’re interested in using.
  
• If you can, start looking through magazines for pictures of kitchens you like, as this helps us a lot when coming up with ideas for you
  
  
• Then we can give you some idea of what kitchens (or bathrooms) are costing today
  
  
• Then we visit your home to give you a ballpark figure of what your kitchen will most likely cost
  
  
• Once you decide to have us do your remodeling,
• We charge $450 for our design which includes elevation plans, full color renderings, and construction details
• When you decide to have us do your work, we apply the design fee to the job…
  

• We order all materials and receive them before we start your work. Our goal is to start and finish your project as quickly and smoothly as possible
  
  
• We work on your project until we finish. We don’t believe in starting too many jobs at a time. Our goal is to make sure you’re 100% satisfied with what we do for you.
  
  
• D throughout the project.

• Before the cabinets arrive, decide where you’ll have a clean safe and enclosed area for us to temporarily store them.
  
  
• Move all artwork from walls behind where we’ll be working. Vibrations from the construction could cause damage.
  
  
• Pack up the kitchen (or bathroom) well before the remodeling begins. While it’s a great time to “spring clean” your shelves, don’t forget to label your boxes well. This will make unpacking a lot easier.
  
  
• Set up a temporary food station where you can make your coffee, and you’re your microwave
  
  
• There’s no way to avoid dust, although we do take every precaution. Cover  furniture, fish tanks, or electronic equipment in nearby areas.
  
  
• Store fragile items away from the construction area.
  
  
• Don’t forget about your pets! Try to have an area in your home where they can be kept safely away from construction. If needed, this may be a perfect time for play dates!
  
  
• Since you’ll have to eat anyway, now’s the perfect time to make a list of restaurants you’ll want to eat at.
  
  
• Set up a place for all your (paper) plates, utensils, trash bags, paper towels, and other supplies. If you’re planning on eating at home, make sure your refrigerator is handy and filled with frozen meals.
