Kitchen Redesign Instead of Remodel

We don't always believe a complete new kitchen is a must. If your cabinets are structurally sound, and you like the layout of your existing kitchen, sometimes you can work wonders on a budget.

We have a home built in 1939, and I truly didn't want a new kitchen. I'm a bit of a tru-ist; I believe if you have something to work with, then you work with it.

So, first, we added legs to cabinet bases. We then painted them a pale gray/green, and because we definitely needed a new counter top, we were daring and went with marble. Now, marble in a kitchen is not a really good idea, especialy if you need to use your kitchen! Well, I don't use mine, and since it's just for looks (ha) I could do whatever I wanted to do.

I also didn't want to replace my backsplash which was white tile with chrome trim.

So, here is a before photo, and several after shots. Turned out great didn't it?

Bathroom Remodel - Cabinet Update

This is the before photo with boring cabinet doors.

Bathroom boring doorsSometimes, a complete bathroom remodel isn't necessary, especially if you have older well made cabinets. This is actually our Master Bathroom, and yes, we do have an older home. I didn't want to tear out any of the original 1939 ceramic tile, but knew we desparately needed to do something with our vanity. So....I we added legs to the base, and had our faux painter draw then paint the cabinets to resemble slightly distressed french cabinets.

Storage Tower Bathroom Remodel

This bath remodel included adding a storage tower which allows for easy access to frequently used items. This is a great example of how a glass shower enclosure can be custom cut to fit just about any configuration.
